About The Royal Latin School & The 600 Campaign
The Royal Latin School is a co-educational grammar school of 1280 students including a large sixth form of almost 400. The school was founded in Buckingham almost 600 years ago, and has a long tradition of providing a high quality education with high expectations for all students both in and out of the classroom. Our school is one of the top-performing state schools in the country; our results at GCSE and A level are consistently excellent. We give students a high degree of responsibility and are proud of the way in which they represent the school with maturity and respect for others.
The 600 Campaign aims to bring one of the oldest schools in England into the 21st Century, and presents an opportunity to adopt a new approach which will be shared with schools in the UK and beyond.
Our vision is to create an exemplary learning environment that enables extraordinary achievement and prepares students - who are amongst the brightest young people in the UK - to build, and to succeed in, tomorrow's world.
By working in partnership with universities, employers and the community, and by embracing innovation, creativity and a global outlook, the school can offer students the opportunity to become truly extraordinary.
The 600 Campaign consists of three major phases:
Phase One: The Discovery Centre, an innovative science facility, completed in 2015
Phase Two: The Sports Campus and 6th Form Centre Refurbishment
Phase Three: The Arts Centre
All phases are due to be completed before the 600th anniversary of the school in 2023.
